In close proximity to all the main towns in the south, the Summer House allows guests to enjoy the experience of a private villa whilst including an exciting itinerary of sightseeing, sports, and shopping in their stay. Ambalangoda is renowned for its craft and features the largest mask museum in the country where tourists can view the ancient techniques of Sri Lankan mask carving and participate in making their own masks. Hikkaduwa is a fifteen-minute drive and features a long stretch of restaurants and jewelry shops worth a browse. The Galle Fort is a UNESCO Heritage Site and is a wonderful way to spend the day, exploring the roads on foot while browsing cafes, shops, and the ramparts.

The Galle Fort (55mins)

The Galle Fort, or Dutch Fort as it is also known, is a fortification first built by the Portuguese on the Southwestern coast of Sri Lanka. According to a statement by UNESCO, the site was recognized as a World Heritage Site for its unique exposition of an urban ensemble which illustrates the interaction of European architecture and South Asian traditions from the 16th to the 19th centuries which is the criterion number four for such recognition.

Turtle Hatchery (2mins)

Explore the pristine blue waters and white sands of Ambalangoda and take part in conserving sea turtles! Located a few steps away from the Indian Ocean which is famous for the sea turtle nesting grounds. Many of the species are becoming extinct due to various environmental factors. You will be a part of the community involved in the conservation of marine life and its habitat.

Ambalangoda Mask Museum (5mins)

Mask making is a popular tradition in Sri Lanka. Many Sri Lankan mask artisans ply their trade along the Western, South Western and Southern coasts of the island. Of these, the Ambalangodaarea on the South Western coast of Sri Lanka is renowned for its talented artisans.

With Sri Lanka's multiple ethnic backgrounds Ambalangoda features beautiful Buddhist and Hindu temples just a boat ride or short drive away from the villa.

Within 30 minutes drive, Bentota offers a wide range of watersports facilities with boating activities and sporting activities for all ages.
